Walking into Chill Meditation studio in Chicago is like stepping into an oasis of minimalistic calm. The open, chic space is welcoming and warm. Chill is a “modern wellness concept” studio located in the heart of River North.
The modern wellness concept in meditation and massage, according to Chill is

a space designed for calm.
When I heard about Chill from my friend and blogging colleague Beth of Ups and Downs of a Yoga Mom, I knew we had to take our suburban selves to the city to check it out. Our day out did not disappoint. I was blessed to do three of my favorite things – Have some girl time with my like minded friend, spend some time in the city and meditate. Talk about chilling out!

Inviting us in with a kind smile and calm confidence, Darrell Jones, General Manager and Co-Head of Teacher Training at Chill spent a generous amount of time with us, showing us around the studio which includes:
- a lovely and spacious retail area with sofas and two hanging basket swings where you can sip tea or read or chat or just be
- a private meditation room
- a lounge area with a gently flowing fountain and cozy lounge chairs
- the lockers with USB ports to charge your phone while you recharge your soul
- the massage chair area
- the spacious, softly lit quiet meditation room filled with meditation cushions and blankets

The mission statement at Chill is “to make it a little easier for people to live less stressed, more mindful lives.” Who doesn’t want that? Chill does this by offering 30 or 45 minute mediation sessions, 20, 35 or 50 minute chair massages and a relaxing lounge area to just sit and take a breather.
It’s a great space for busy professionals. You can grab the chair massage during lunch – which means there’s no need to get naked. Keep on your loafers, get comfy and chill. Pop in for a 30 minute meditation at 11:30 or 12:30 or even right after work and still have time for a meal or happy hour.
While I am not a busy professional, I thoroughly enjoyed and melted into the 30 minute meditation. Our instructor’s soothing voice guided us through the Insight class. Chill offers two other categories of classes: Breath and Rest. There is truly something for everyone.
I wish I lived closer to Chill. I would absolutely become a member, meditate there daily and lose myself in the quiet calm of the lounge. Chill is by far, a new favorite place for me to chill.
Chill Chicago is located at 222 West Kinzie, Chicago. You can find out all about schedules, pricing and membership by clicking here.
